Terms of Service

1. Who can use 7 Clan

You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age in your country) and able to form a binding contract. If you use 7 Clan on behalf of a family or group, you confirm you’re authorised to do so.

2. Your account

You sign in with an email link or with Google. Keep access to your email and account secure — you’re responsible for activity under your account. Tell us at hello@7clan.com if you suspect unauthorised use.

3. Your content and family data

• You keep ownership of the content you add — names, details, notes, photos, and recordings (your “Content”).
• You grant 7 Clan a worldwide, non-exclusive licence to host, store, reproduce, adapt and display your Content for the purpose of operating the Service — showing your tree to the relatives you share it with, generating transcripts and summaries, and running features you use.
• You confirm you have a reasonable basis to add the information you enter about other people, and the right to grant this licence.
• This licence ends when you delete the Content or close your account, except for residual backup copies that age out and anything we must keep by law.

4. Respecting other people

A family tree contains information about living and deceased relatives, some of whom are not users. You agree to:

• Add information about others responsibly and honestly, and correct or remove it on a reasonable request.
• Not upload sensitive information about a living person who has objected, or that you have no right to share.
• Respect that the tree is shared — relatives you invite can see and edit what you add.

If someone asks to be removed from a tree, contact us and we’ll help resolve it.

5. Acceptable use

Don’t:

• Break the law, infringe others’ rights, or upload unlawful, hateful, or harassing content.
• Impersonate someone, or misrepresent your identity or relationship.
• Scrape, bulk-export other families’ data, or attempt to access trees you weren’t invited to.
• Probe, disrupt, or overload the Service, or bypass its security or limits.
• Upload malware, or use the Service to spam.

6. AI features

7 Clan uses AI to transcribe recordings, summarise them into stories, and answer questions in the Family Butler. AI output can be inaccurate or incomplete — treat it as a helpful draft, not an authoritative record, and review it before relying on it. You are responsible for what you choose to save to your tree.

AI-generated artwork is subject to fair use limits.

7. Plans and payments

Core 7 Clan is free. We may offer paid plans or features (for example, a family “House”). If you buy one, the price, billing period and any renewal will be shown at purchase; paid features are governed by those terms in addition to these. Except where the law requires otherwise, payments are non-refundable. We may change pricing prospectively with notice.

8. Service changes and availability

We’re actively building 7 Clan, so features may change, be added, or be removed. We aim for reliable service but don’t guarantee it will be uninterrupted or error-free, and we may suspend it for maintenance.

9. Termination

You can stop using 7 Clan and delete your tree or account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these Terms or use the Service in a way that harms others or us. On termination, the licences you granted end as described in section 3.

10. Disclaimers

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We don’t warrant that family information in the Service is accurate — it’s supplied by you and your relatives.

11. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, 7 Clan will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for lost data or profits. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or USD 50.

12. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify 7 Clan against claims arising from your Content or your misuse of the Service, including claims that your Content infringed someone’s rights.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Singapore, and the courts of Singapore have exclusive jurisdiction, except where mandatory local consumer law gives you other rights.

14. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms as the Service evolves. We’ll update the date above and give notice of material changes. Continuing to use 7 Clan after a change means you accept the new Terms.
